The rocket hit the house on the morning of February 26. An enemy blow completely destroyed part of the building. Now residents are raising funds to restore everything as soon as possible.

Up to 400 families live in the house near the center of Kyiv. The rocket went through between the 19th and 20th floors, and also demolished the supporting columns. Damaged apartments from 17 to 22 floors, experts say. Although the house did not collapse completely, it is impossible to live in most of it. After all, the upper part of the apartments has a slope. In addition, there are no pylons from the outside of the house. 

At the beginning of April, the residents of the house raised funds on their own and at least minimally strengthened the building. People decided to create a charity fund “Save my house” for reconstruction. It is necessary to save the high-rise building quickly, because the destruction does not stop permanently. 

According to design engineer Dmitry Makagon, the building can be completely restored. “It was laid in the structure (restoration – Ed.), When the walls and columns were broken, but the building did not collapse,” the expert explained. 

This can be done if you do not postpone the reconstruction indefinitely. After all, wind loads can affect, for example. 

Renovation of the house can cost tens of millions of hryvnias. “The work is very expensive because it is not quite standard. It can be difficult to find contractors,” said Dmitry Makagon.
