Recently, the President of Finland called Putin to discuss his country’s intentions to join NATO. He stressed that Finland is forced to take such a step because of Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
The Finnish leader said this in an interview with SVT.
Niinisto says he raised the issue of the atrocities of the occupiers in Ukraine. But, according to him, the Kremlin leader “had an explanation” for the military actions of the Russian army in the Ukrainian Donbas.
“You are currently bombing children, women, people in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol who have nothing to do with Donbass,” Niinisto said during the conversation.
According to him, Putin “responded” to the accusations with simple silence.
