At least 20-22 thousand people are buried in mass graves in Mariupol. It is unknown at this time how many more people were killed in the blockade of besieged Mariupol. The adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko reported about it. According to him, none of the Russians “does not bother” to first look for the bodies of the dead and take them out. As he said, the occupiers mostly “just roll everything up, take it to the landfill.”

In the battles for the Ukrainian Mariupol more than a month ago, Major of the Azov Regiment Vitaliy Zinchenko died, who covered his comrades in battle at the cost of his own life. The family is currently unable to bury Vitaliy, as his body is still in the Azovstal area, where the bodies of other dead military and civilian victims remain, which are not allowed to be taken out by the invaders.

Negotiations on the release of captive defenders of Mariupol, who heroically defended the Ukrainian city from the Russian occupiers, are ongoing. Most of the captured servicemen were taken out of Mariupol by the Russians and are being held in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. However, it is not known for sure that all the military are there. This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov.
