The other day it became known that the Russian occupiers hit the Luhansk Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater in Severodonetsk. This is evidenced by footage taken from a bird’s eye view.
Former Minister of Culture of Ukraine Yevhen Nyschuk notes that the theater was revived after the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine in 2014 outside the temporarily occupied Luhansk. The cast of the theater then became one of the most progressive and interesting groups.
“Once again, Russia is deliberately striking at cultural objects. Numo, tell me now again about “culture out of time” and “culture doesn’t matter”. Culture is the foundation of foundations! We will rebuild and present everything on the stages of Ukrainian theaters in the North, in Mariupol, and in Luhansk and Donetsk, the brightest Ukrainian premieres! ”Nyschuk wrote.
It is also reported that there were people in the basement of the theater, their fate is currently unknown. “It is known that the occupiers knew for sure that civilians were hiding there,” said Serhiy Dorofeev, an expert at the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
Severodonetsk holds, but the Russians destroy the city.
