The defense boundaries of Avdiyivka, Donetsk region, remain unchanged, so the Russians are destroying civilian infrastructure
Deputy head of the Avdiiv military-civilian administration, Serhiy Legenkyi, said this on Espresso.
“The situation in the city continues to remain difficult and tense, as the enemy is constantly shelling the city – it is destroying the civilian infrastructure. Over the past day, four people were injured, one person died, quite a few houses were destroyed. Today, the enemy continues to shell the city, it is mainly anti-aircraft fire. and artillery,” he said.
Legenky reported that there are still more than one thousand people in the city – mostly they are sitting in bomb shelters and in the basements of apartment buildings.
“There are several shops in the city where you can buy food. They draw water from wells, and water is delivered when there is an opportunity. There is only one road to the city and it is constantly under fire. It is difficult to bring humanitarian aid, water, and to evacuate the population in general. Logistics is carried out by entrepreneurs through this road. It is at their own risk. They really risk their lives to bring something to the city. It is exactly the same as how volunteers bring rubber aid and evacuate the population,” the official said.
He added that the boundaries of the city – they remain unchanged.
“The military is reliably defending them. The enemy has not gone a single meter there. Because they cannot break through the military infrastructure, they are destroying the local infrastructure,” said Legenky.
According to him, among the tasks of the authorities – to evacuate as many residents as possible and to prevent a humanitarian crisis for those residents who remained – it is necessary to provide them with at least food and drinking water
“The hospital works in the city, there is a certain supply of medicines. Of course, volunteers bring medicines that disperse quickly – for blood vessels, for the heart, sedatives. There is a communal service that tries to eliminate certain threats after shelling,” the official concluded.
