German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock said that the trip to Buchi was one of the most frightening experiences during her tenure. She told about this in an interview with Spiegel .
“One of the scariest moments was when the Prosecutor General of Ukraine in Buch showed me a folder with photographs, including a small child who was apparently shot on the stairs to the basement, and a 16-year-old boy killed with a single shot to the chest. This shows that it is impossible to come to an agreement with Putin now. We are talking about destruction. Even children,” Berbok said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany added that she is very sorry for the Ukrainians, but even after Buchi she defends the policy of military non-interference.
“I would like to promise, for example, that we will provide humanitarian corridors from the regions of Ukraine where the fighting is going on. But we cannot provide this. Such a promise must be backed up by military measures,” said the head of the German Foreign Ministry.
That is why she was forced to “clearly declare” that the regime of no-fly zones will not be introduced, explained the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
“A good foreign policy means that you keep a clear head, even when everything boils in your chest. Tolerating when you can’t do anything is sometimes the cruelty of foreign policy,” she added.
