The commander of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ihor Skybyuk, spoke about the heavy battles for Bilogorivka in the Luhansk region.
He emphasized that it was a feat of Ukrainian soldiers who defended the village. After all, the fire of the enemy’s artillery prevailed both in terms of quantity and mass, but not in terms of quality and accuracy. But in general it was a solid wall of fire.
– There was no peaceful place anywhere. From the front positions to the rear line, where the artillery was deployed, the enemy constantly delivered powerful blows. But we saw them and beat them, saw them and beat them. As a commander, I had a second to assess the situation, a second to make a decision, a second to command. It was not easy. Even thinking back to those events is difficult, says the commander.
