Oleg Khudyakov was abducted by the Russian occupiers and held captive for a week
Oleh Khudyakov, the former head of the public security service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kherson region, committed suicide. This was reported by the publication “Bridge” with reference to its sources in law enforcement agencies.
It is known that 51-year-old Khudyakov was abducted by the Russian occupiers and was held captive for a week.
Journalists suggest that the occupiers tried to force Khudyakov to cooperate because they could not form their “police” from local staff and were looking for people with experience in law enforcement. It is possible that there were threats against members of Khudyakov’s family (he was survived by his wife and son) or other relatives.
From 2020, Oleg Khudyakov worked as an adviser to the Chief of the National Police in the Kherson region and a leading consultant on public safety. In particular, his function was to contact “voluntary police assistants”.
As it was reported, the Russian military released from captivity the vice-rector of the Kherson state university Maxim Vinnik , he already is in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
