The health care system in Donetsk region has been almost completely destroyed.
During the full-scale war in Ukraine, 621 medical institutions were damaged and 118 were completely destroyed.

The Donetsk and Luhansk regions suffered the most – there the occupants completely destroyed the health care system. How will the destroyed infrastructure be renewed, technical equipment purchased, and doctors returned home? Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Oleksiy Yaremenko answered these questions in the studio of the Donbas24 TV channel.

He said that as soon as the deoccupation of the region takes place, mobile brigades are sent there, looking for premises for hospitals in order to resume work. 45 institutions that have suffered minor damage have already been completely renovated, the state has hidden the costs. Part of the institutions in the territory of active combat operations, the premises of which were destroyed, were temporarily moved to other hospitals.

The deputy minister notes that the health care system must become one of the key sectors in the reconstruction of the country after the war.
