After visiting Irpen, Romanian President Klaus Johannis called for Russian criminals to be brought to justice.

“There are no words to describe the unimaginable human tragedy and horrific devastation we saw in Irpen today. I strongly reiterate my call for all Russian criminals to be brought to justice in accordance with international criminal justice, which Romania fully supports,” Johannes said.

It is worth noting that on June 16, Romanian President Klaus Johannis, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi paid an official visit to Kyiv and visited Irpin. They inspected the destroyed city and got acquainted with the plans for its reconstruction. Representatives of Ukraine told the heads of state about the crimes of the Russian army, in particular, about the executions of people when they tried to leave the city by car.

It will be recalled that on February 24, Russia attacked Ukraine, launching a series of missile and air strikes on our cities, including Kyiv. The large-scale invasion has been going on for 113 days (8 years of war). The occupiers continue to destroy Ukrainian villages, towns and cities with cruise missiles and air bombs, killing civilians and destroying infrastructure.
