Four members of the German Bundestag visited Bucha, Irpin and Borodyanka in the Kyiv region, which were destroyed by the Russian occupiers. This is reported by UNN with reference to the website of the “Servant of the People” party.
Among the members of the delegation that visited Kyiv region: Head of the Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee Thomas Eredl and committee member Knut Abraham. As well as parliamentarians, members of the Bundestag defense committee, Serap Güler and Kerstin Wiergge.
“German parliamentarians were able to see with their own eyes the consequences of Russian atrocities: the most terrible places of Irpen and Buchi, the consequences of airstrikes on civilian objects in Borodyanka. This deeply impressed our colleagues,” said the deputy head of the “Servant of the People” faction, co-chair of the Ukrainian-German interparliamentary friendship group Galina Yanchenko.
The main topic that the Ukrainian parliamentarians discussed with their German colleagues was weapons for Ukraine.
“We thanked Germany for the support already provided to Ukraine and the first arrival of weapons. At the same time, the pace of providing weapons can be faster. For us, this means an opportunity to save our cities from destruction and save thousands of innocent lives,” Yanchenko concluded.
