On the morning of Saturday, July 16, Odessa was hit by a new Russian missile strike. Explosions were heard in the city and a cloud of black smoke instantly rose into the sky – a massive fire broke out in one of the neighborhoods, injuring one person.

The arrival was confirmed by the representative of the Odessa regional military administration Sergei Bratchuk in the Telegram channel. The strike struck a civilian object – the composition of a trading company, without casualties (to view photos and video, make the news to the end).

“Odessa. Do not post video and photos on the location of the incident. Rescuers are working at the scene of the fire,” said the official.

The first footage of the arrival did appear on the network. They show the fire and a column of thick smoke rising above the buildings, disguised with the help of editors.

People did not specify the location, only noting that it was a heavy hit on the city and a terrible fire in its aftermath.

“The strike was at least two rockets,” Odessa residents claimed.

Operations Command South confirmed the Russian strike on Odessa. The enemy engaged Tu-95 strategic aviation planes, striking from the direction of Stavropol. The missile, tentatively X-101, hit a production and trade company. There the fire broke out on an area of about 1000 square meters.

For his part, Bratchuk clarified that the guards of the civilian facility observed the rules of conduct during the air-raid alarm. At the site continues rescue operation.

According to the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov, from the first minute units of the municipal rescue service, rescue and diving service together with fighters of the State Emergency Service extinguished the fire at the civilian infrastructure facility, at which “barbarians struck a rocket attack”.

It is noted that as a result of the impact of the enemy missile, a 30-year-old man was wounded in the head. The presence of other victims is being established.

In the process of investigative actions, fragments of the missile mechanism were found and seized at the scene.

The prosecutor’s office stressed that there are no military facilities on this territory.

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Odessa regional prosecutor’s office criminal proceedings were initiated for violation of laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
