According to information from the Kherson Regional State Administration, the situation in communities and districts of the region as of Wednesday, July 13.
The temporarily occupied part of the region remains “cut off” from Ukrainian mobile operators. Only some Internet providers are working, the traffic of which goes through Russia. Because of this, banking, Ukrainian information resources, some social networks do not work without VPN services. The SIM cards sold by the occupiers also work poorly: many services are unavailable, it is impossible to call Ukrainian numbers, and the network does not always pick up.
The situation in the Kherson region remains tense. Some communities of the region are forced to live for months under constant shelling without gas, water, electricity and food.
Reports of abductions by the occupiers continue. Over the past day, the head of the Myliv community Oleg Yakhnienko was captured for the second time, and a hunter guarding the area of the Black Sea Biosphere Reserve on the Kinburn spit was also kidnapped. Nothing is known about the fate of a hundred other prisoners.
Every day, thousands of people are forced to leave their homes to escape from the occupiers. No official corridors have ever been agreed upon, so people evacuate at their own risk. For the time being, due to the recent rain, the only passage through Vasylivka to Zaporizhzhia is closed, eyewitnesses report, so the column of people willing to leave is getting bigger and bigger.
Local residents report that the number of equipment and Russian troops has significantly increased in some communities. They forbid locals to repair electricity and water supply, as well as use telephones.
In the area of the village of Novopetrivka in the Kherson region, a pair of Ukrainian attack aircraft struck an ammunition depot and an enemy concentration camp, reports OK “Pivden”. Three enemy fighters tried to hit our aircraft with two missiles. There are no losses of our aviation. But these rockets hit the boiler house in Bashtanka. A civilian woman died as a result of the strike. Also, due to the impact of the rocket, a fire broke out in a field outside the city, which was quickly extinguished by rescuers.
The so-called occupation “authorities” and local collaborators exert pressure on educators, forcing them to cooperate. They gather teachers for “retraining” in Crimea. However, educators refuse to cooperate with the enemy. The occupiers themselves announce the opening of less than 20% of educational institutions in the region.
Collaborator Tetyana Kuzmich, appointed by the Russian occupiers as the “head” of the so-called “department of science and education” of the Kherson region, organizes the transportation of schoolchildren to the “Nakimovsky Naval School” in Sevastopol.
Last night, residents of Kherson heard powerful explosions. According to preliminary information, the Armed Forces hit the enemy again in the Chornobayivka area. The occupiers became more active in Kherson itself. In the city, patrols of occupiers and checks of people on the streets and checkpoints increased. The enemy is putting pressure on the local population, the occupiers are taking cars from Kherson residents, robbing local businesses. According to local reports, the occupiers are building fortifications near the Antoniv bridge.
In the course of a special operation carried out by the forces of the special unit of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region, five citizens of Ukraine who were held captive by the Russian occupiers were released. Among them is a serviceman of the Armed Forces, a former police officer and three civilians. One of the released has a serious combat wound. Currently, all those released are under the care of the Ukrainian authorities and are receiving appropriate treatment.
