The Main Directorate of Intelligence does not rule out the possibility of an attempted offensive by the Russian occupying forces in the direction of Zaporizhzhia. The enemy may also try to surround units of the Armed Forces.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar at a briefing on Thursday, July 7. According to her, along with the offensive or instead of it, the occupiers can make a detour in the direction of Velika Novosilka – Pokrovske in order to surround the Ukrainian units (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the page).
“On the Zaporizhzhia and Novopavlivskyi directions, according to the GUR MOU, it is not excluded that the enemy will conduct offensive actions in the direction of Zaporizhzhia and/or carry out a detour in the direction of Velyka Novoselivka – Pokrovske, obviously with the aim of encircling our units,” said Malyar.
In preparation for such actions, units of the Russian occupying forces in the indicated direction are being reinforced by at least five battalion-tactical groups, Malyar noted.
As for the Kryvyi Rih and Mykolaiv directions, here the enemy will try to keep the captured territories of the right-bank part of the Kherson region and will carry out sabotage and reconnaissance actions on the coast of Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, the deputy minister of defense noted.
According to her, the Russian troops are currently conducting military operations of attrition.
Malyar also added that the enemy is demining the ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol in order to use them.
